John Simmons

My candidacy, like my life and work, is a call to service. It’s been my honor to serve the people in District 109 as State Representative from 2018-2022 before redistricting lines were redrawn. In addition, for the last 31 years, I have served our people as a chiropractic physician, volunteer for various organizations, and a youth & high school soccer coach.

My volunteer service over the decades has always included the church and schools we sent our kids; St. Gertrude and St. Francis Borgia High School. I’ve been a Washington Rotarian for 31 years. Like many of you, I’ve served in various positions, and boards, and “sign up sheets” for the fair, United Way, food pantries, Boy Scouts, dinner auctions, and local athletic teams. Knowing that our communities’ strength comes from its people and their talents, not an overbearing, unresponsive government, keeps me rooted in my principles of constitutional, federalism governance. My opponent on the other hand, has NOT lived nor volunteered here for the last 30+ years, and only recently moved.

I’ve enjoyed helping our young people experience the great many life lessons one can learn through sports. I’ve enjoyed creating a safe, bonding, learning environment as their coach or as a field referee. This must be stated unequivocally...women sports should remain women only sports!

My small business private sector perspective helps keep the lawmaking focus on less regulation, less taxation, and more freedom for businesses to operate the way they know best...not some state or federal bureaucrat dictating nonsense. My opponent comes from the bureaucracy and has nothing to do with the family small business he touts.

I know a constitutional conservative Republican is the best advocate to protect and respect the values we share and to keep Franklin County and District 109 great! I ask for your vote, Aug 6, 2024.
